Google IO is back May 2019

When is Google I/O 2019?

Google I/O is the annual software developer conference from Google, and in 2019 will be held 7-9 May. Here’s what to expect from Google I/O 2019.

What to expect from Google I/O 2019

Android Q, aka Android 10, is likely to be the headlining act at Google I/O 2019, and we’ll almost certainly see the release of a consumer preview.

Leaks have already revealed some of the new features, with a system-wide dark mode tipped alongside some changes to permissions and better support for third-party RCS messaging.

In terms of hardware we aren’t expecting a Pixel 4 until October, but in the meantime we could see a Pixel 3 Lite. Of course, since I/O is a software conference, talk is usually restricted to the software powering new devices.

With that in mind we’ll almost certainly hear about improvements to Google Assistant, and the company’s other software projects.
